A Shadow's Second Family

It has been months since Sasuke, Justin and Steve (The Orange County Ninjas) fought Kohta Sanada and The Headless Dragon Clan. With Kohta gone, Al Chapman (a student of Justin and Steve's high school) swore revenge on The Ninjas for the death of his "father". Many have died on that fateful day, but today is a different story. We don't start with the three main characters. Instead, we start this story with another survivor of the Shadow Village massacre. You know him as Tohru Miyazaki, the ninja who was going to be the new boss of the Headless Dragon Clan but got nothing at all.

Act 1 Scene 1: February 17th. A homeless shelter a couple of miles from Oceanview. Tohru drenched in rain and eating some soup. One of the homeless guys is getting mad at him.

Homeless Man (to everyone): "Hey! This guy has more chicken in his soup than me!"

Tohru (to the homeless man): "You better lower your voice. You're making a scene and embarrassing yourself." The Homeless Man stands up and walks closer to him. He furrows his brow and breathes very heavily.

Homeless Man (to Tohru): "That's not making a scene. This is making a scene!" He throws a punch, but Tohru grabs the man's fist and headbutts the man in the skull. The homeless man then gets flung by Tohru into the wall. Enter a nun and a priest.

Sister Rosa: "What's going on here?" She sees the homeless man near the wall. "What happened?"

Homeless Man: "He hit me and threw me at the wall." He points to Tohru.

Tohru: "Yeah, it's true. I would do it again in a heartbeat."

Homeless Man: "See, that psycho admits it."

Sister Rosa: "That's enough, Frank. You're going to bed." Sister Rosa and some volunteers take Frank to a bed. Tohru sees the priest, Father Crispin give the "come here" gesture.

Act 1 Scene 2: Father Crispin's office. Tohru feeling edgy.

Father Crispin: "You're on thin ice, young man." The priest pulls out a file from his desk. It's big and very heavy. "You attack people and throw stuff. You should be lucky that I don't call the cops on you."

Tohru: "Why should I care? My life is meaningless."

Father Crispin: "How can you say, my child? There are decent people who help poor people who are on the ropes in their lives."

Tohru: "Good luck finding someone who does care about me. I'm going to bed. Good night, sir." Tohru exits Father Crispin's office and goes to his room.

Act 1 Scene 3: A couple hours later. Tohru is in a dream state. Tohru sees his family's mansion on fire and his parents burning to death. Then, he sees The Headless Dragon Clan killing the Shadow Village citizens and burning the village to the ground. Tohru then "wakes up".

Tohru (to himself): "Just a horrible memory." A figure appears in his room. "Stay back! Don't make me hurt you." He sees Sasuke. "What the hell? Sasuke?"

"Sasuke": "You're still dreaming Tohru. I'm not really here."

Tohru: "Why are you here?"

"Sasuke": I'm here to tell you that this isn't your right path. You can still change like I did. We both lost a lot of people, but that can change."

Tohru: "Oh yeah... how? Remember, I beat your new friends to a bloody pulp."

"Sasuke": "But you didn't kill them. It was just a messed-up way of telling me that Kohta was coming to get me. That's in the past now. Change to better yourself. Good bye." "Sasuke" disappears.

Tohru: "Wait, Sasuke. Sasuke!!!"

Act 1 Scene 4: February 18th. Tohru's room in the morning. He leaves his room to go to the dining room. No one is there.

Tohru: "Hello. Is anyone here?" Sister Rosa appears. "Sister Rosa, where is everyone?"

Sister Rosa: "They left without telling you. Father Crispin was kidnapped by the local gang and the orphanage next door was vandalized. The children's playground was vandalized also."

Tohru: "What?! Why didn't anyone wake me up?"

Sister Rosa: "Father Crispin thought you didn't care about anyone."

Tohru: "I have to go."

Sister Rosa: "Go where?" Tohru turns around with a determined look on his face.

Tohru: "You're going to find out, aren't you?"

To be continued...
